HIGHLAND — Two girls were thrown from a horse Sunday and transported to a hospital with head injuries.
The Highland girls were riding bareback near 10980 North and 6400 West when the horse was spooked and sent the 13- and 17-year-old girls sprawling onto the road, said Lone Peak Fire Capt. Joseph McRae.
Both sustained head injuries and were flown in stable condition to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City for trauma treatment. The 17-year-old girl also injured her leg in the fall, McRae said.
