CENTRAL VALLEY, Sevier County — A fire completely destroyed an unoccupied home early Sunday in Central Valley.

A Sevier County sheriff's deputy first noticed flames in the area between I-70 and state Route 118 about 2:30 a.m., according to a news release.

When crews from the Richfield and Monroe fire departments arrived, they found a residence at 845 W. 100 North fully engulfed in flames.

Deputies contacted the homeowner, who was out of town with family members, about 4 a.m.

The home was a complete loss, the release said. The state Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
