Nominees selected for judgeships
Public is invited to comment on district court candidates
Nominees have been selected for two judgeships in 3rd and 4th state court districts.
The public is invited to comment in writing on the individuals who have been nominated. The deadline for writing is 5 p.m. Oct. 26.
A 3rd District judgeship is being vacated with the retirement of Judge Sheila McCleve. The individuals nominated to fill that office are Katherine Bernards-Goodman, assistant division chief in the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office; Evelyn Furse, senior city attorney for Salt Lake City Corp.; Steven Gordon, an attorney with Durham, Jones & Pinegar; Keith Kelly, a shareholder and director with the firm of Ray Quinney & Nebeker; and Andrew Stone, a shareholder with Jones, Waldo, Holbrook & McDonough.
In the state's 4th District, a judicial spot has become open with the retirement of 4th District Judge Gary Stott. Nominated to fill that spot are M. James Brady, a partner in Bradford and Brady Law Firm; Jared Eldridge, Juab County attorney and Nephi city prosecutor; Thomas Low, Wasatch County attorney; Douglas Mortensen, partner and shareholder in Matheson, Mortensen, Olsen & Jeppson; and Brook Sessions, an attorney with Harris & Carter.
