Today on TV
Baseball playoffs: Phillies at Dodgers (2:30 p.m., TBS); Angels at Yankees (5:30 p.m., Ch. 13)
Ghost Whisperer (7 p.m., Ch. 2): There's a ghost haunting the hospital.
Law & Order (7 p.m., Ch. 5): Well, this episode is just full of reality-show references — it's even titled "Reality Bites." The story revolves around Larry (comedian Jim Gaffigan) who adopted 10 special-needs children with his wife, who's been murdered. He's in development on a reality show titled "Larry Plus 10." But he's in competition with a character who looks suspiciously like the Octomom, who also wants a reality show of her own. And the investigation reveals that Larry had an affair. With the baby sitter. Generally, the ripped-from-the-headlines stories on "Law & Order" are pretty interesting. This one, however, seems more than a bit forced. And, at this point, we're so sick of the real reality "stars," it's hard to work up much enthusiasm for faux reality stars. Even if they're bumping off the, um, Kate character.
Smallville (7 p.m., Ch. 30): The Toyman takes Oliver hostage; Clark becomes a mind-reader.
High school football (7 p.m., Ch. 14): Hunter at Skyline.
Stargate Universe (7 and 9 p.m., Syfy): The ship's power reserves are nearly drained.
Medium (8 p.m., Ch. 2): Allison has visions of a strange symbol that may be tied to a serial killer.
Sanctuary (8 and 10 p.m., Syfy): Tesla and Henry work on a weapon that can stop attacks on Sanctuaries.
Numb3rs (9 p.m., Ch. 2): A series of murders seems to be patterned on the plot of a soon-to-be-released movie.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (9 p.m., Cartoon): Padme investigates a Separatist conspiracy in the senate.
Monk (10 p.m., USA): It's Monk's birthday, and there is, of course, a murder.
Psych (11 p.m., USA): A seemingly simple case turns complicated — and deadly.
