BOUNTIFUL — Bountiful residents can meet candidates for public office during a forum tonight.

The meet-the-candidates night will begin at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at Bountiful City Hall, 790 S. 100 East.

The 90-minute program is designed to give residents information about where candidates for mayor and City Council stand on city issues.

The night is sponsored by the Utah League of Women Voters, which will run the event.

Following the meeting, each candidate will have a few minutes to present views to those in attendance. Candidates are expected to visit with attendees before and after the meeting.

Candidates for mayor are Mayor Joe Johnson and Jeffrey Novak, chairman of the Coalition for Ethics and Accountability in Government.

City Council candidates are incumbents Tom Tolman and Fred Moss, and Ernie Cox and Phill Wright.

The general election is Nov. 3.
