After losing three games in a row early on to fall to 1-3, Hunter has now reeled off four consecutive wins, including a huge upset victory over No. 8 Cottonwood on Friday. La'au Tanuvasa rushed for 166 yards and two TDs for Hunter, and the Wolverines' defense made plays to secure the big win.
Looking ahead
Week 9's slate will have playoff implications
The second-to-last week of the regular season will be spread out over three days next week and will have major playoff berth implications. Some of the biggest games are on Friday night, including Davis at Fremont, Riverton at Bingham, Mountain Crest at Ogden and Woods Cross at Highland.
Notable performance
Adam Bunting, Layton
This solid running back racked up 275 yards and four touchdowns to help lead the way in Layton's comfortable victory over Clearfield. Bunting scored all four of his touchdowns in the middle two quarters to leave no doubt about what the final outcome would be.
