BOUNTIFUL — Police are hoping the public can help them locate a man who held up a check-cashing business with a handgun.
The man entered Check Into Cash, 163 S. 500 West, at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, said Bountiful Police Lt. Randy Pickett. He produced a black semi-automatic handgun, Pickett said, and demanded money from the lone clerk in the store.
Pickett said after the clerk handed over about $500, the man ordered her into a bathroom and then fled the store, riding away on a red mountain bike.
The man is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s. He is 5 foot 8 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds, with a medium build. He was wearing a black beanie, red bandana, red-hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
Anyone with information about the case should contact the Bountiful Police Department at 801-298-6000.
