WOMEN'S SOCCER: The Red Storm kept their Pacific West Conference record unblemished Thursday afternoon defeating the visiting Chaminade Silverswords 7-0 at Hansen Stadium.

Dixie State (5-3, 4-0) controlled the tempo and held the ball in their possession for the majority of the match. The Storm dominated the shot count 40-3 putting pressure on the defense of Chaminade (0-7, 0-4)

DSC tallied five goals within a span of eight minutes early in the first half. Shannon Larsen scored top shelf off a right side assist from Erin Beeston in the 13th minute. Wendy Stratford made the score 2-0 going high off a breakaway at the 15:36 mark.

Mikala Wilkes, current conference player of the week, pushed the lead to four goals scoring unassisted in the 19th minute.

Jessica Michie closed out the first half with a pair of goals. In the 21st minute, Michie guided a shot left side into the net concluding a successful two-on-one breakaway with Beeston. With seconds left before the half, Dacee Stephens centered a pass for Michie who scored left side.

Goalkeepers Tonya Smith and Abby Monroe faced only three shots with one coming on goal to preserve the shutout.

MEN'S SOCCER: The Red Storm needed a 10 1/2 minute scoring window to defeat visiting Chaminade 4-0 on Thursday evening to secure their first win inside the Pacific West Conference.

Freshman forward Jordan Roylance scored three goals in the first half and junior midfielder Francisco Arellano added a goal and assist for Dixie State (3-4-1, 1-3). Chaminade (1-6, 0-4) has been shutout in their last two matches.

The match featured physical play producing seven yellow cards between the clubs. The Storm outshot the Silverswords 23-4 including nine-to-two with shots on goal.

Dixie State will continue Pac West play Saturday afternoon at Hansen Stadium against the University of Hawaii-Hilo beginning at 4:30pm. The team will finish off a three-match in six day stretch at home on Monday against Hawaii Pacific University.
