WOMEN'S SOCCER: The Wolverines get a fresh start on Friday when they begin Great West Conference play at North Dakota. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m. MT with live stats and live audio available at fightingsioux.com. UVU also plays at South Dakota on Sunday at noon.

"Obviously, the first part of this season has been tough, but we have seen improvement and this is a fresh start for us," said UVU head coach Brent Anderson. "It's an opportunity to compete in the new conference, and the girls are excited to be able to begin Great West play."

The Wolverines (1-9-0) have lost five straight games and have struggled to score all season long, with just five goals in 10 games. Despite the offensive woes, though, UVU has kept itself in nearly every match during the streak, losing three times by a single goal. In its last game, Utah Valley fell 2-0 at home to Portland State on Oct. 2.

North Dakota enters Friday's game at 1-8-1 overall and 0-1-0 in conference. South Dakota is 1-0-0 in conference play and 3-7-1 overall.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: The Wolverines started off their first Great West Conference road trip on a positive note Thursday night with a 25-9, 25-9, 25-19 victory at Chicago State.

With their seventh win in a row, the Wolverines improve to 4-0 in GWC play and remain in a first-place tie with NJIT (12-5, 3-0).

UVU (12-5) and NJIT will square off Saturday at 3 p.m. MT in Newark, New Jersey. The Wolverines are 2-0 all-time against the Highlanders.

Sophomore OH Chelsey Garfield paced the Wolverines with 10 kills in the victory over Chicago State (0-16, 0-5). Junior MB Dani Robison and senior OH Camie Manwill added six kills, while junior OH Kayli Broadbent added five kills and four digs.
