OGDEN — A woman who was critically injured in a Sept. 28 crash has died.
Myia Ann Marcroft, 18, of Ogden, died Tuesday, said Ogden Police Lt. Scott Sangberg. Marcroft was a passenger in a van driven by Zachary Brian Alverson, 19, of Ogden.
Alverson mistakenly turned east from Wall Avenue onto 30th Street, which is a one-way street going west, Sangberg said. Realizing his mistake, Alverson attempted to turn around, and the van was struck broadside by a full-size pickup truck. No one in the truck was injured.
Marcroft and a 17-year-old boy riding in the van were critically injured. Sangberg did not have updated information on the boy's condition.
Investigators are awaiting the results of toxicology tests on blood drawn from Alverson after the crash, Sangberg said, noting that blood is drawn from motorists in all crashes involving fatal or potentially fatal injuries. Police do not suspect alcohol or drug use contributed to the crash, he said.
No charges have been filed.
