EAGLE MOUNTAIN — Belle Wade hasn't been able to contact her sister living in the Philippines since Typhoon Ondoy hit the islands last month.
After seeing footage of the typhoon's destruction, the Eagle Mountain resident and native Filipino began organizing an event to raise money for the victims of the destruction.
Wade and the Filipino community in Eagle Mountain will host a pancake breakfast at Nolan Park Pavilion, 7800 N. Sparrowhawk Way, on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. The breakfast costs $5 for adults and $3 for children, with all proceeds going to Utah LDS FilAM Typhoon Ondoy Fund and LDS Philanthropies.
