The trail starts adjacent to the campground and goes between huge rock formations. At .22 miles you come to the junction for Landscape Arch. Go left. You arrive at Landscape Arch at 0.9 miles. The arch measures 306 feet from base to base. It seems to defy gravity. The trail becomes more difficult after Landscape Arch. The trail climbs up sandstone rocks to the junction for Partition and Navajo Arch. Both arches are worth the short hike to view them. Looking through Partition Arch, you see hikers making their way up the trail. The trail smooths out toward Double O Arch. At 2.5 miles, you come to a sign for Double O Arch. The trail takes you on top of a large rock fin with dangerous drop-offs on both sides. After this area, the trail drops to Double O Arch. At first you see the larger opening, and the small one seems to hide below it. This is a beautiful place to take a break before continuing on the loop. Take the Primitive Trail. A sign warns hikers the trail is difficult, and it is in places. The trail continues down and arrives at the junction for Private Arch, at 4.1 miles into the hike. Visit the arch. Back on the main trail there are a few places where the rocks have a slippery slope. Getting off your feet and scooting down worked for me. Take lots of water and explore!
