Winning Seasons

Skyline needs just one more victory to snare its state-record tying 21st straight winning season. Davis had 21 consecutive winnings campaigns from 1972-92…. Timpview needs two more wins to claim its 20th straight winning season.

Meanwhile, Woods Cross has won five games in a season for the first time since 1994 and with at victory over Tooele this week, will have its first winning season since '93…. Payson can guarantee its first winning season since '78 if the Lions can win two more games. Payson was 4-4 in '94 but has suffered through 14 straight losing seasons since then. A Lion victory over Salem Hills this week would mark the first time since 1986 that the Lions have won five games in a season.

Ogden is still trying to pick up its sixth win of the season to cement its first winning season since '88 and an Olympus win over Stansbury will give the Titans their first winning season in six years.

Winning Streaks

Since Juan Diego's loss last week ended its 20-game winning streak, three 7-0 teams – Bountiful, South Sevier and Wasatch – now share the longest current streak. They're followed by Hurricane, Pleasant Grove and Rich, which have won six in a row…. Only one team in each classification remains unbeaten: Pleasant Grove (5A), Bountiful (4A), Wasatch (3A), South Sevier (2A) and Rich (1A).

For the Record

Logan's Tyler Stevens set state records for passing completions and attempts when he made 43 of 66 throws in the Grizzlies' 48-31 victory over Judge. The previous completion record was 38, set by Riley Nelson in 2005. North Sevier's Tyler Torgerson held the attempts record, 65, also in 2005, in a four-overtime playoff game.

Stevens' 499 passing yards vs. Judge is the fourth-most ever and his 532 yards of total offense is the eighth-most in a game and only the 11th time a player has amassed more than 500 yards of total offense in a Utah prep contest.

Also last week, Fremont's Nick Vigil carried the ball 43 times in Fremont's 28-7 win over Northridge, just two off the state record and third-most all time…. Juab's Kamron Gurney recovered three fumbles against Richfield, the most in a game by a single player since 2002…. Park City rushed for 524 yards against Morgan, the 13th highest on record.

Career Leaders

Sky View's Kyler Carlsen and Jordan's Alex Hart continue their unofficial competition for career total offense records and passing marks.
