WSU salutes outstanding alumni

OGDEN — During the 40th annual WSU Salutes program, Weber State University will honor outstanding alumni and friends for their contributions to campus and the community.

An awards ceremony, hosted by the WSU Alumni Association, will be Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Hurst Center for Lifelong Learning on the school's Ogden campus.

This year's award recipients include Distinguished Alumni Calvin L. Murri and Thomas R. Kunz; Outstanding Young Alumnus Steve Starks; Emeriti Alumni Homecoming Royalty Vance C. and Nancy Hollist Pace; Edward (Ted) Boyle, recipient of the Emeriti Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award; Rodney H. and Carolyn "Mitzi" Brady, recipients of the Distinguished Service Award; and LaWanna (Lou) Shurtliff, who will be honored with the Lewis W. Shurtliff Award for Contributions to Education.

"We are very proud of these individuals and appreciate everything they do for our university and the community," said Lynell Gardner, executive director of the WSU Alumni Association. "We invite everyone to join us as we honor them."

The awards program, which will feature biographical videos, is free and open to the public.
