BYU sophomore defensive back Shiloah Te'o has been dismissed from the team for violating team rules, coach Bronco Mendenhall announced Tuesday night.
The school did not release any details surrounding the dismissal.
Te'o, a 5-foot-10, 206-pounder from Laie, Hawaii, has seen action in all five of the Cougars games in a reserve role at safety, playing behind Andrew Rich. Te'o has five tackles, including one tackle-for-loss. As a freshman in 2008, Te'o was a special teams player. In 11 games, he had five tackles and one fumble recovery.
