Too much trust is placed in "experts," such as the psychiatrist in whose "expert" opinion Brian David Mitchell is unfit to stand trial. All "delusional" means is that Mitchell is such a thorough-going liar he has come to believe his own lies. It is narcissism and grandiosity in the extreme.
Those involved in this case ought to read the book "People of the Lie" by M. Scott Peck. Peck explains how the truly evil won't have horns and carry a pitchfork but more likely will be sitting next to you in church. Masters of manipulation, they will disguise their evil with lies and with pretenses of righteousness — or pretenses of insanity.
Mitchell is hardly incompetent. He knew exactly what he was doing.
