Maverik chain opens 200th store in West

Maverik Inc. on Friday marked the opening of its 200th store, which is in Naples, Uintah County.

Company founder Reuel Call opened his first store in 1928 in Afton, Wyo. The convenience chain was named after the popular television show in the 1960s.

Maverik, based in North Salt Lake, has expanded across seven states in the western U.S. and employs more than 3,000 people. Recently the company surpassed $1 billion in revenue. Family-owned Maverik is run by the third generation of the Call family.
