EAGLE MOUNTAIN — A construction worker died Monday when he was crushed in an industrial accident.
Joshua Parks, 23, of Orem, was working on a sewage plant in Eagle Mountain and was driving a roller compactor over a large mound of dirt when he tipped over, said Utah County Sheriff's Lt. Mike Brower. He worked for Nelson Brothers Construction.
Another construction worker at the plant had seen smoke from where Parks was working. He tried to get the roller off of Parks and called 911, Brower said. A medical helicopter was called but then canceled because medical responders said Parks died almost immediately.
Parks had been working for the construction company about six months, he said.
