After falling somewhat earlier in the summer, President Obama's job approval rating has stabilized over the past month, and now stands at 55%. A third of Americans disapprove of the way Obama is handling his job as president. While personal ratings of the president have also fallen slightly since post-inauguration highs, an overwhelming number of Americans continue to view Obama positively. Fully 83% see the president as a good communicator, 78% say he is warm and friendly and 65% see him as a strong leader. However, Obama has seen double-digit declines in positive views on several traits since February, including whether he cares about people like them (13 points), is trustworthy (12 points) and is able to get things done (12 points). Most of the decline in Obama's personal ratings has come among Republicans who are now much more critical of the president.
