SPRINGVILLE — Police have identified a woman who died Sunday in an accidental shooting at a 7-Eleven here as Molly Ann Case, 19, of Provo.
When Case's husband opened the passenger door of their sport-utility vehicle for her at 11:45 a.m., a .22-caliber revolver fell out and discharged as it hit the ground.
Case was struck by a single shot in the abdomen and later died at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
The couple had been camping in Hobble Creek Canyon before coming into Springville to make a purchase at the convenience store at 206 N. Main, police said.
