Top passing performance

Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens

Forget about any sophomore slump. This strong-armed, second-year quarterback has not only not had any drop off in his play, he has been one of the best in the NFL. He had 342 yards passing on 25-of-34 attempts in the Ravens big win.

Top rushing performance

Maurice Jones-Drew, Jacksonville Jaguars

He ripped off a 61-yard run for one of his three touchdowns on the day, and he showed his ability to be a complete running back as he scored twice from inside the 10-yard line and caught four passes coming out of the backfield.

Top receiving performance

Santana Moss, Washington Redskins

If there is any silver lining to giving the Lions their first win since 2007, it comes in the form of Moss who caught 10 passes for 178 yards. The speedy receiver also caught a 57-yard touchdown in the team's loss.

Monday Night Football

Dallas at Carolina, 6:30 p.m., ESPN

It is early in the year to be calling games "must-win," but for two teams that had Superbowl aspirations entering the season, this game may fit the bill. The Cowboys are coming off a disappointing last-second loss to the Giants, while the Panthers are in danger of falling to 0-3. The two quarterbacks will be under the spotlight as Tony Romo and Jake Delhomme must perform well.

Quote of the week

Lovie Smith, Chicago Bears

"To me, you judge good quarterbacks based on what they can do late in the game, and Jay wants the ball in his hands... We all had confidence that he would lead us." About QB Jay Cutler.

Notable performance

Detroit Lions

It had been a long, long time coming, but the Lions finally got an NFL victory. The win was their first since Dec. 23, 2007 and ended a 19-game losing streak, tied for the second-longest in NFL history behind Tampa Bay's 26-game streak.
