NORTHERN
Bear Lake — Fair fishing. Lake trout are gathering in depths between 50 and 80 feet of water.
East Canyon — Good fishing for trout trolling with popgear and a worm. Shore anglers targeting trout should try yellow, rainbow or chartreuse PowerBait or something similar. For bass and crappie, try worms near a structure, like a rock. For trout, float bait off of the bottom.
Echo — Good fishing for perch with worms, but slow fishing for trout and smallmouth bass.
Logan River — Good success for rainbows and cutthroats with flies, PowerBait, salmon eggs tipped with a marshmallow, hamburger, spinners, jigs and worms.
Smith and Morehouse — Great success with a worm and marshmallow combination or PowerBait. The best success is along the southwest shoreline. Also, fast fishing for rainbows at Butterfly Lake.
Newton — Good fishing for tiger muskies, even though the water level is down. All muskies must be released.
CENTRAL
Deer Creek — Good success for trout and bass. Most trout ranged from 12 to 17 inches. Use tube jigs or other bass lures for the best bass success. Morning is the best time to catch trout. Shore anglers who used baits have had fair success, while trollers report good fishing. Walleye success is spotty.
Jordanelle — The water level has dropped slightly. Fair to good success for both trout and bass. Can also try trolling with popgear and a worm or lure at about 25 to 30 feet. Bass fishing is good with jigs.
Provo River — (Lower) Fly anglers report that small, dark nymphs are still working. September is ideal for grasshopper imitations. (Middle) Good success with a Copper John and Sow Bug combination. Also good action on hoppers.
Strawberry — Success good. One fisherman caught 34 cutthroats trolling with red and white Daredevils. Most anglers report fair fishing from the shore. Early morning is the best time for action.
Tibble Fork — Good success with traditional baits and lures. American Fork Creek, Silver Lake and Silver Lake Flat were recently stocked. Anglers are still doing well at Silver Lake Flat and Silver Lake. Try flies or lures.
Utah Lake — Good success for catfish and whitefish. Other fish are biting, too. Most anglers are using worms for the catfish and small bait-tipped jigs for the white bass.
