A woman whose arms were filled with groceries and a bag of ice was robbed while walking out of a South Salt Lake convenience store Monday afternoon.

A man approached the woman just outside the Maverik store at 2650 S. Main at 7:17 p.m. and asked her about a bus schedule, said South Salt Lake Police detective Gary Keller.

"When suddenly, without warning, he pushes her, grabs her wallet and jumps into a waiting vehicle."

Her wallet contained IDs and cash.

Keller is asking for public help in finding the white male in his 20s, with blond hair. He was wearing a T-shirt and fled in a older, white or silver compact car, possibly a Honda, with damage to the right rear fender panel. The driver is also described as a white male in his 20s.

Authorities were still looking into the possibility that there is a video surveillance tape of what Keller called strong-arm robbery. If so, police hope video images of the thieves could be available sometime Tuesday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact South Salt Lake Police at 801-840-4000.
