WEST JORDAN — Police are looking for a man who broke into a golf course clubhouse early Monday but left without taking anything.

Just before 5 a.m., a man forced entry into the clubhouse at Mountain View Golf Course, 2400 W. 8660 South, said West Jordan Police Sgt. Drew Sanders.

The man looked through an office and was at the cash register when he heard the alarm go off and ran out the door, Sanders said. The man had been in the clubhouse about four minutes when he fled empty-handed. Surveillance video showed he was driving a GMC pickup truck, either black or dark green, equipped with silver running boards.

Last week, Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation officials issued a plea for help in finding whoever was responsible for a recent rash of burglaries at golf courses throughout the county. Prior to Monday's incident, there had been seven break-ins in the past month, with at least five of them believed to be committed by the same person. It was unknown Monday whether the latest incident was connected to the others.

Anyone with information on any of the golf-course burglaries may call police at 801-840-4026.
