Utah Utes football: Cardinals aim to bounce back after UK loss
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe apologized for some salty language he used after the Cardinals lost to rival Kentucky last weekend, but he didn't apologize for his team's performance.
The Cardinals fell to the Wildcats 31-27 despite rallying in the fourth quarter to take the lead. Kentucky won after a late fumble by Louisville punt returner Trent Guy gave the Wildcats the ball deep in Louisville territory.
Kragthorpe defended Guy after the game. The normally reserved coach said he'd take notice of any member of the media that criticized the senior, who also had a 66-yard touchdown reception against the Wildcats, and used some choice words while doing it.
Kragthorpe said he didn't mean to offend anyone, saying it was simply the heat of the moment. The Cardinals (1-1) travel to Utah (2-1) on Saturday.
