Let the rumors continue.
Or not.
With Jazz fall camp just about a week away, an ESPN NBA writer continues to report that Carlos Boozer could end up in a New York Knicks uniform this season.
In order for that to happen, the Knicks would have to work out a sign-and-trade deal with young power forward David Lee, who still has not signed a contract this offseason.
Lee's agent didn't specify if Utah is involved, but he claims something could be in the works.
"Nothing is done yet, but we're talking," Mark Bartelstein told NBA Fan House on Tuesday. "There are still some sign-and-trade scenarios that are being discussed or going back to the Knicks."
That, however, is "not happening" with Boozer, Newsday's Alan Hahn reported Wednesday. Several sources told him nothing has happened on the Lee-Boozer front for a while.
But ESPN's Ric Bucher believes Boozer going to the Big Apple is one of the most likely and sensible scenarios — in part because the power forward opted in for his $12.7 million contract for 2009-10 and then started talking about being traded and the fact the Jazz are facing enormous luxury-tax threshold penalties.
"The Jazz have great interest in Lee and are still looking to move Carlos Boozer," Bucher wrote this week on ESPN.com. "There would have to be other pieces involved, but with Boozer's contract expiring, that would make sense for both sides."
NOT A KNICK: One former Jazz player who looked to be headed New York's way is now going the other direction. Swingman Morris Almond, who played for New York's summer-league team after not re-signing with Utah, has agreed to participate in the Orlando Magic's fall camp, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
ROOKIE SIGNING: The Jazz's first-round draft pick, point guard Eric Maynor, will do a one-hour, autograph-signing session Saturday, beginning at 3 p.m. at the Fanzz store at South Towne Center in Sandy.
