Fruit Heights selects city candidates
FRUIT HEIGHTS — Fruit Heights Mayor Todd Stevenson will be running unopposed in this year's general election in November.
Stevenson was selected as the only mayoral candidate following a city convention Thursday and is running for his second term as mayor.
Fruit Heights is the only city in Davis County that selects its candidates for office by convention rather than primary election.
Two parties, Sagebrush and Pinecone, convened at Fruit Heights City Hall to hear speeches and selected two candidates each for City Council.
Incumbent councilwoman Eileen Moss was selected to be on November's ballot along with Don Carroll, Bette Hubrich and Nicole Miller.
A meet-the-candidates night will be held Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. at City Hall, located at 910 S. Mountain Road, in Fruit Heights.
