Two men were sent to an area hospital with minor stab wounds following a fight at Pioneer Park.

The fight, which happened after an intoxicated man was urinating on a tree, involved various intoxicated people.

Through investigations, police learned a group of transients were upset with the man urinating in the park and pointed him in the direction of a restroom. That led to yelling, which led to fighting, said Salt Lake City Police Lt. Mark Scharman.

In the melee, two men were stabbed, though police only learned of one of the men initially. After he was taken to University Hospital, police were summoned to the area of West Temple and 300 South with the report of another man who had been stabbed.

Fortunately for the men, neither stab wound was serious.

"We're not sure who did it," Scharman said. "No one knows what happened."
