The morning nip of fall is in the air, and the theater offerings this week vary as much as the soon-to-be fall foliage.

"Arsenic and Old Lace,"West Jordan Theater Arts, Sept. 17-28, Sugar Factory Playhouse, 8201 S. 2200 West, West Jordan.

The Brewster sisters have an odd way about them. As gentlemen inquire about a room, the two sweet ladies offer them a glass of homemade elderberry wine laced with deadly delights.

Police get involved, and the Brewster sisters' nephew Mortimer worries that — as the seemingly only sane Brewster — his family roots will betray him.

The show stars Giselle Airriess, Michelle Groves, Bud Perry, Gordon Jones, Sean Buckley and Bob Bedore.

Shows are Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Mondays at 7:30 p.m., with Saturday matinees. Tickets are $3-$6 (www.thesugarfactoryplayhouse.com).

"Charlotte's Web," Sept. 17-Oct. 3, Utah Valley University's new Noorda Theatre, Orem.

The children's classic comes to life in UVU's brand-new theater, which opened this week.
