ADORATION — ★★½ —There's definitely no shortage of ideas in this dramatic thriller, that's for sure. Running time: 100 minutes. R (profanity, slurs, brief sex, violence)

BROKEN HILL — ★★½ — Despite some flaws, this music-themed drama works better than it should. Running time: 98 minutes. PG (violence, slurs, mild profanity)

SORORITY ROW — Thriller about a serial killer stalking female college students. To be reviewed next week. Running time: 101 minutes. R (violence, gore, profanity, sex, nudity)

TETRO — ★★ — An insufferable, noirish mystery-drama that becomes increasingly more frustrating as it morphs into other things. Black and white, with subtitles. Running time: 127 minutes. Not rated, probable R (profanity, violence, nudity, brief sex, brief gore, vulgarity, slurs, brief drugs)

TYLER PERRY'S I CAN DO BAD ALL BY MYSELF — Perry reprises his role as Madea in this music-heavy drama. To be reviewed next week. Running time: 113 minutes. PG-13 (violence, sex, drugs)
