Some 1,500 motorcyclists are expected to participate on Saturday in the second annual Lavapalooza charity motorcycle ride to benefit the Utah chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Participants will leave Golden Spike Harley-Davidson in Ogden at noon and make their way north to Lava Hot Springs for the fundraiser. Music will be provided beginning at 2 p.m. for those who participate, and festivities will include a drawing for a trip to Mexico. Cost to attend in Lava Hot Springs is $25 in advance or $35 at the gate. Pre-registration is available by calling Harley-Davidson locations in Sandy, Salt Lake, Ogden and Logan.
