Notable performance

Jared Fenton, Lone Peak

The senior returned two kickoffs for touchdowns to lead the Knights to a 38-26 victory over Riverton. Fenton took the opening kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown and then added a 99-yard touchdown return later in the first quarter.

Slade Moyle, Enterprise

The Wolves senior quarterback completed 12-of-23 passes for 248 yards and four touchdowns to lead Enterprise to victory. Three of Moyle's touchdown passes went to Robert Hunt.

Josh Adams, Salem Hills

Had a big game in leading the Skyhawks to a 53-21 victory over Union. Adams ran for three touchdowns and 89 yards while also adding one passing touchdown.

Sean Smith, Box Elder

Led the Bees to a 17-14 victory over rival Bear River by carrying the ball 18 times for 135 yards and one touchdown. Smith scored the game's first touchdown on a 54 yard run.

Looking ahead

Region play gets underway throughout the state

Region 1 already has two weeks of league action under its belt, but beginning next Friday Regions 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 9 jump into league play. Highlighting the slate of region games is Davis at Syracuse, Brighton at Lone Peak and Jordan at Alta. In nonregion action American Fork travels to Bingham in an interesting 5A clash.

Upset of the week

Box Elder knocks off rival Bear River

Bear River's offense had been flying high two weeks into the regular season, but that all changed in the battle for the Golden Spike as Box Elder eked out a 17-14 victory. It was the 89th meeting between the two schools, the fifth-most played rivalry in Utah, with Box Elder now leading 63-24-2.
