After taking the summer off, the State Room, co-owned by Darrin Piccoli and Chris Mautz, is gearing up for fall.
Mautz and Piccoli opened the State Room, 638 S. State (the former home of the Salt Lake Repertory Theatre), in April after extensive remodeling.
Since then, the venue has hosted such artists as Stanley Clarke, the Lee Boys, the Flatlanders, Brandi Carlile, Michelle Shocked and Richard Buckner.
Upcoming shows are:
SEPTEMBER
8: Buckwheat Zydeco
16: David Wilcox
18: The Lee Boys, making a State Room return
29: Deer Tick
OCTOBER
8: Chris Smither
12: Aimee Mann
20: Great Lake Swimmers
26: Vienna Teng, making a State Room return
28: Emmitt-Nershi Band
Tickets are available at www.thestateroomslc.com
Concerts begin at 8 p.m.
While The State Room isn't a private club, concertgoers must be 21 or older.
"It really has stayed close to our core vision and we look forward to continuing to present dynamic and interesting performers," Mautz said.
