No. 20 BYU (0-0) vs. No. 3 Oklahoma (0-0), at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, 6 p.m. Central (ESPN)

Line: Oklahoma by 22.

Series Record: BYU leads 1-0.

Last Meeting: 1994 Copper Bowl, BYU 31-6.

What's at Stake

Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford and the Sooners will be looking for a strong start against a quality foe after losing the national title game last season. The big question for Oklahoma is whether it can remain a steamroller on offense while replacing four starting offensive linemen. DT Gerald McCoy anchors a unit with nine returning starters.

For BYU, this is the kind of game that could draw the respect coach Bronco Mendenhall has been seeking while winning at least 10 games three straight years. Alas, the Cougars also are replacing most of their offensive line and QB Max Hall needs a new favorite target now that record-setting receiver Austin Collie is in the NFL.

Key Matchup

BYU QB Max Hall vs. OU defense. If Hall gets enough protection from his new line, perhaps he can take advantage of a secondary featuring two new starters at safety.

Players to Watch

Oklahoma: RB DeMarco Murray. After running for more than 1,000 yards, he missed the national championship game with an injury.

BYU: WR McKay Jacobson starred as a freshman and is being counted on to replace Collie. However, he spent the last two years on a mission. This game also is a homecoming for Jacobson, who helped nearby Southlake Carroll High win three state titles.
