HYRUM, Cache County – A 9-year-old boy was hit by a car on Monday at approximately 5:30 p.m. He was taken to a nearby hospital but later flown to Primary Children's Medical Center in critical condition.
Cache County Sheriff's Lt. Chad Jensen said that a 56-year-old man was driving near 300 South and 300 East in the boy's neighborhood when the boy may have turned his bicycle into oncoming traffic on the road. The initial reports state that speed was not a factor, that the man was following the posted speed limit of 35 mph.
The case remains under investigation.
