Rock on

Recovery time

According to The Wall Street Journal, this is what it takes to make $100,000:

125 trips around the track for NASCAR's Tony Stewart.

3.6 snaps for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

21.2 minutes of playing time for LeBron James.

Six pitches for Alex Rodriguez.

11.2 holes for Tiger Woods.

Four years for the average American.

Oh, and here's one more item Rock On would like to add:

45 minutes in the whirlpool for Carlos Boozer.

Dog days

How this got past Rock On is a mystery, but it's never too late to bring up the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island.

This year's July 4 event featured Joey Chestnut scoring a three-peat by wolfing a world-record 68 franks in 10 minutes.

For his trouble, Chestnut took home a $20,000 prize and the prestigious Mustard Belt.

"I've been practicing hard," he told the New York Daily News. "I knew it would be hard to beat me."

It will be harder yet to fix his digestive tract in 10 years, but hey, it takes sacrifice to be a champion.

Ticket central

Cleveland Cavaliers center Shaquille O'Neal was ticketed by cops in L.A. last week for stopping his car in the street. He was cited for impeding the reasonable movement of traffic.

Which raises a question: What nickname should the Big Aristotle/Big Cactus/Big Shaqtus/Big Baryshnikov have now?

How about the Big Ticket?

Admittedly, Kevin Garnett may not appreciate someone ripping off his I.D. But when it comes to nicknames, Shaq casts a long shadow — not to mention a fairly wide girth.

As for the ticket, it seems the cops were being a little harsh.

Impeding traffic is something he does for a living, isn't it?

Behind the badge

To his credit, O'Neal didn't pull out his own Miami Beach reserve officer badge.
