Salt Lake Bees: Budde is big in Bees' win
COLORADO SPRINGS — Ryan Budde delivered three hits and four runs batted in to lead the Salt Lake Bees to a 7-4 win over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Sunday afternoon.
The game was tied 1-1 when Budde launched a two-out, three-run blast over the left-field wall to put the Bees in front. Budde also doubled and scored in the seventh inning and provided an insurance run with an RBI single in the eighth, as the Bees won their fourth straight game and pulled to within 3 ½ games of first-place Colorado Springs with eight games left in the season.
Brad Knox evened up his record at 8-8 with the win, as he allowed three runs, two earned, on seven hits in five and one-third innings. Bobby Mosebach tossed a scoreless ninth inning for his fifth save of the season. Chris Pettit had two hits and one RBI for Salt Lake, while Reggie Willits added a hit and an RBI. The Bees open a four-game series in Tacoma tonight.
