Don't tell me what I think

As a Democrat and a supporter of Barack Obama, I have been surprised to learn from the tea-partiers, anti-Obama hollerers and several Readers' Forum writers that I hate America and the Constitution; that I am somehow, simultaneously, a communist, a socialist and a fascist; that I am racist against white people; and that I want the government to euthanize the elderly and the disabled.

Listening to angry conservatives tell me what I believe as a liberal is like listening to angry evangelicals tell me what I believe as a Mormon.
