MORGAN COUNTY — A North Ogden man drowned Monday afternoon after his inner tube flipped on the Weber River.

Heath Park, 28, was floating between Morgan County and Summit County with his brothers when the tube he was riding overturned in a section of the river barbed with large rocks.

"He just got in a bad area up there in the river and (his brothers) couldn't tip him back over," said Morgan County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Kevin Edwards. "He was tipped over for more than 10 minutes."

When his brothers finally righted the tube, they administered CPR to Park with the help of passers-by who stopped along the road.

The sheriff's department received a call shortly after 4:30 p.m. and dispatched ambulances and a rescue helicopter to the scene.

Park was flown by helicopter to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
