OKLAHOMA CITY — The Bees' bats stayed silent for too long.

Salt Lake dropped its second straight game at Oklahoma City, as the RedHawks edged the Bees 4-3 on Saturday night.

Oklahoma City led 4-0 in the sixth when Chris Pettit singled with one out. That was the first hit of the game for the Bees and ended a 16-inning hitless streak. Pettit came around to score on a two-out double by Matt Brown to get Salt Lake on the board.

Brandon Wood followed with an RBI single and scored on a double by Freddy Sandoval to pull the Bees within one run.

But Sandoval was stranded at third as former Stingers outfielder Brian Gordon, who became a pitcher two years ago, struck out Adam Pavkovich to end the inning.

Brad Knox (6-8) took the loss, as he allowed four runs on six hits in five innings with five strikeouts. Knox's fifth strikeout was the 700th strikeout of his professional career.

Once again, the Bees' bullpen was outstanding as Francisco Rodriguez and Bobby Mosebach combined to retire all nine batters they faced.
