Stage auditions

"The Magic Fish," Aug. 17, 10 a.m.-noon, the Children's Theatre, 237 S. State.

Actors who are interested should send in a resume, including a headshot. After reviewing the applicants, actors will be invited to audition. Actors will be asked to do a cold reading from the script. "Scrooge," Aug. 22, 9 a.m.-noon, Rodgers Memorial Theatre, 292 E. Pages Lane, Centerville.

Needed are actors ages 7 and older. Please prepare 16 bars of a musical number in the style of the show. Character voices are encouraged. An accompanist will be provided; prerecorded music and a cappella singing are not allowed. Actors should also wear clothing appropriate to learn a short dance routine. Bring a headshot and list of conflicts September through December.

"Wait Until Dark," Pleasant Grove Players, Aug. 18 and 19, 7-9 p.m., Pleasant Grove Library, 30 E. Center.

Actors will be asked to do cold readings from the script. Needed are five adult men and one woman, and one young girl age 11-13. The role of Harry Roat Jr. has been precast. Performances are Oct. 16-Nov. 2, directed by Howard and Kathryn Little. Call 801-836-8104 for more information.

"So You Think You're A Witch?" Gardner Village, 1100 West 7800 South, West Jordan.

Gardner Village is holding a auditions to find a few good witches to make appearances during October. An audition will take place Sept. 11. Winners will be compensated for their appearances. An orientation meeting will be held Aug. 22, 10 a.m., at The Gathering Place in Gardner Village.

"Crown of Lomiria," West Jordan Youth Theatre, Aug. 20, 4-6:30 p.m., and Aug. 22, 2-5 p.m., Sugar Factory Playhouse, 8201 S. 2200 West, West Jordan.

Needed are youths ages 7-17. Please prepare a short monologue or poem. If you want to sing, be prepared with a short song. An accompanist will be available Aug. 22. Directors are also looking for special talents, such as magic tricks, drumming, juggling, dancing, etc. All cast and guardians must attend a mandatory meeting and read-through on Aug. 25.
