Utah Utes football: Wynn is No. 1 on Utes' QB depth chart

Junior quarterback Corbin Louks is the odd man out in the quarterback derby at the University of Utah.

Coach Kyle Whittingham announced Friday morning that freshman Jordan Wynn is No. 1 on the depth chart with JC transfer Terrance Cain as the backup.

The three quarterbacks have been battling this fall in what Whittingham has called a "dead heat." He said he would make it a two-man race after Thursday's scrimmage because there are not enough reps to go around for three quarterbacks.

"Jordan will run with the No. 1s and Cain with the twos," Whittingham said after practice. "That's our starting point, but nothing's etched in stone. It could change anytime."

The Utes play their first game on Sept. 3 at home against Utah State.
