Utah's two golfers at the PGA will be going home early unless they play better in today's second round at Hazeltine National GC.
Sandy's Mike Weir shot a 74 and finds himself in a tie for 69th place, while Sandy pro Steve Schneiter is clear back in a tie for 151st place after struggling with an 82 Thursday.
Schneiter will almost certainly miss the cut, while Weir is right on the border.
Weir had just one birdie on the day to go along with three bogeys. Starting on the back nine, he made bogeys at 12 and 16 and again on 1, before finally making a birdie at the par-5 seventh hole.
Schneiter played in the afternoon and got off to a rough start, making a bogey at No. 13 and a double bogey at the par-5 15th hole and a quadruple-bogey 7 at the par-3 17th hole. On his back nine, he added bogeys at 1, 2 and 7 to finish at 10-over par.
Schneiter tees off at 7:55 a.m. MDT today, while Weir goes off at 1:05 p.m.
