VERNAL — After bear activity forced it closed last week, officials reopened a road on Monday to the Ute Fire Lookout on the Flaming Gorge Ranger District of the Ashley National Forest.

Forest service officials closed the road on Aug. 7 after reports of bear sightings and activity at various campsites and at Ute Tower.

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources worked to capture the bear over the weekend and concluded that it had left the area.
