The Ogden Ranger District has announced that road maintenance is now in progress on the Devils Gate Valley Road and Willard Mountain Scenic Backway necessitating some closures.
Both roads will be closed Mondays at 6 a.m. through Thursdays at 6 p.m. Construction began on Aug. 3 and will continue through Sept. 24.
Approximately 12 miles of the Willard Mountain Road will be resurfaced from the forest boundary just north of Dock Flat and south to Willard Mountain.
"There will be large maintenance equipment on the roads during this time," said Rick Hobson, acting Ogden District ranger, "so the roads will be closed to the public for safety reasons."
The two dirt roads are accessed from Mantua, Box Elder County, and the Willard Backway Road.
