PAGE, Ariz. — A 4-year-old Cedar City boy drowned Monday near Warm Creek Bay on Lake Powell.
Dispatchers received a call from a houseboat in the area shortly before 7 p.m. stating a young boy from the boat's party had been found unconscious in shallow waters, a spokesman for Glen Canyon National Recreation Area said.
A nurse on the houseboat commenced CPR, and emergency responders arrived within 20 minutes. The child was transported by helicopter to Page Hospital, but efforts to revive him there were unsuccessful.
The child's identity has not been released.
