Transitions, a private nonprofit group based in southern Utah, was selected to receive nearly $100,000 in federal grants designed to start or expand rural businesses.
The company helps disabled people develop skills for a more active, independent lifestyle and has already started using the $99,900 U.S. Department of Agriculture grant by purchasing a building in Blanding.
The grant is part of $15.3 million designated for 145 recipients to help finance new and existing businesses through the USDA Rural Development's Rural Business Enterprise program.
