BRIGHAM CITY — A mobile home fire in Brigham City left one family homeless early Saturday morning.

Jim Buchanan, director of emergency services for Brigham City, said when firefighters arrived, the mobile home was fully engaged, and flames were shooting through the windows and roof. It began around 4 a.m. The family was staying with relatives when the fire began, and no injuries were reported.

The fire caused an estimated $100,000 to $120,000 in damage, and the mobile home is being considered a total loss. An adjacent mobile home was also damaged by the intense heat and the damages were estimated to be about $400, Buchanan said.

The American Red Cross in Cache County is helping the family of six. Disaster volunteer George Mullen said in a prepared statement, "They lost everything. The Red Cross is helping them with shelter, food and clothing right now."

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
