Police have identified the man killed in a two-vehicle accident Friday on I-84 near Riverdale.
Caleb E. Nelson, 29, of Morgan, was driving west on I-84 when his SUV drifted off the road for an unknown reason and struck a semitrailer that had pulled off to the right shoulder to check the straps securing its load. Nelson was killed instantly, according to Utah Highway Patrol.
One-year-old Brooklinn Nelson, a passenger in the rear seat of the SUV, suffered only minor head injuries. She was in a car seat.
The semi driver had climbed back into the cab only moments before the collision. He was not injured.
