Arthur Douglas has been appointed as Utah director for the Farm Service Agency at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said Douglas has the background to be able to help out Utah's agricultural community in his new post.

Douglas runs a farm and ranch in the state and served as president of the Utah Farmers Union and secretary of the National Farmers Union. He also served as chairman of the governor's Agricultural Advisory Board in Utah from 2001-06.
